FAQs

How do my employees sign up for Cell-Ed?

We have provided English and Spanish flyers for employees. Some may require assistance getting started.

  • Your organization has been assigned a unique PIN Code. This code is provided in your set of flyers.
  • The flyers also provide a call-in option for learners who do not have smartphones*.

* Note – standard data and internet charges apply

When should my employees study?

Cell-Ed is available 24/7. Please check your company policy on whether staff can use Cell-Ed during work hours.

How do I know which course an employee should take?

Learners take a quick survey that places them in either the English or Reading program and assesses their level. If a course is too easy or too hard, learners can switch courses at any time.

Why Cell-Ed?

Cell-Ed is designed for working adults. Cell-Ed courses teach basic job and life skills along with language, literacy and more. At 3 minutes long, lessons easily fit into adults’ busy schedules and aid effective learning in short bursts.

How do I know Cell-Ed works?

Cell-Ed has been used by thousands. A UCLA study found Cell-Ed users’ reading levels jumped 2 to 4 years in just 4 months (84% faster than traditional classes). Cell-Ed partners include Four Seasons, Chili’s/Maggiano’s, and more.

What support are my employees provided?

Basic coaching support is provided for all learners. For technical assistance and questions, learners simply select the “Help” tab on the app. Cell-Ed coaches also may reach out to encourage and support learners.

How long is a Cell-Ed course?

Courses take between 5 and 20 hours. Employees can take as many courses as they like. Cell-Ed recommends learners study at least 30 minutes a week. At this rate, learners can finish a full year of learning in 3 to 4 months.

What happens after the three-month pilot?

Employees can finish courses for free if they have fewer than two units (hours) left at the end of pilot (August 31, 2019). If employees have more than two units left, then a license can be purchased for $30 to finish their course or annual full access foundational licenses can be purchased for a $120 per person (Sept 2019 to Dec 2020). This reflects a savings of $30 off the annual price — plus 4 extra months of access.
